Bob Reeves and Jonathan Webb bring their shared passion for sport and wine into a unique collaboration, blending their extensive experience in rugby with a dedication to exceptional winemaking. Their partnership reflects a seamless transition from the playing field to the vineyard, celebrating the craftsmanship and camaraderie found in both worlds.

Sporting Connection
Bob’s lifelong passion for sport, especially cricket, saw him play county cricket for Lancashire and Gloucestershire. He taught PE and maths before becoming Director of Sport at the University of Bristol, where he established the UK’s first Master’s in Exercise and Health Science. In 2013, he served as President of the Rugby Football Union and now supports leadership development through the Foundation for Leadership through Sport.
Jonathan Webb, or Webby, played for England from 1987 to 1993, featuring in the 1991 World Cup Final and winning two Five Nations Grand Slams. He played for Bristol and Bath while completing his medical degree and earned 33 caps, scoring 296 points.
After retiring, Jonathan became an orthopaedic surgeon for elite athletes and serves on the World Rugby Executive Council. His passion for rugby and wine is reflected in the quality and character of the wines he represents.
Exploring the
Vineyard
Located in one of the premier Pouilly-Fuissé appellations of France, this exceptional vineyard is renowned for its rare quality and distinctive terroir. The estate has been under the expert care of viticulturist Roger Saumaize for over 25 years. Despite changes in ownership following the passing of the former proprietor, Roger has remained integral to the estate’s success, continuing to work under the traditional metayage system—a feudal arrangement where the grower receives a share of the wine rather than a fixed salary.
Over the past decade, this collaboration has flourished, with Roger earning the prestigious title of Burgundy Winemaker of the Year from his peers. Pouilly-Fuissé has grown increasingly celebrated in recent years as the wines of Southern Burgundy gain wider acclaim. The vineyard’s wines are distinguished by a harmonious balance of rich buttery notes and vibrant minerality, epitomizing the finest expressions of the region.
Set in a breathtaking landscape on the edge of the village of Vergisson, the vineyard nestles between the iconic limestone cliffs of Solutré and Vergisson. This dramatic setting contributes to the unique character of the wines, reflecting the profound influence of soil, climate, and tradition in one of Burgundy’s most coveted wine regions.
