MOULIN D’ISSAN · 2019 · CHÂTEAU D’ISSAN · BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR · 90% MERLOT
From the prestigious Château d’Issan, this distinctive Bordeaux Supérieur comes from parcels closest to the Gironde estuary, where clay-limestone soils are particularly well suited to Merlot. Unusually for the Médoc, Merlot makes up 90% of the blend, giving Moulin d’Issan its signature richness, suppleness and generous fruit character. The 2019 vintage is deep in colour and expressive, with ripe red and dark fruit, subtle oak and fine tannins. Hand-harvested and aged for 14 months in French oak, including 25% new barrels, it delivers the elegance and care associated with the Château d’Issan estate in a beautifully approachable style.
A beautifully supple Bordeaux with generous Merlot fruit, refined oak and the pedigree of Château d’Issan.

“A gorgeous, really approachable Bordeaux. Loads of juicy Merlot fruit, but with enough structure and oak to give it proper Bordeaux character. It feels polished without being heavy and is drinking beautifully now.” Mark J
The Château d’Issan team describes the 2019 as showing expressive, crunchy red fruit, deep colour and a well-balanced finish with fine tannins. Independent tasting notes highlight its richness, suppleness and fruit-driven character, with the 90% Merlot blend giving it an unusually generous profile for the Médoc.
