LA DEVISE DE LILIAN · JACKY LORENZETTI · 2017 · SAINT-ESTÈPHE · BORDEAUX

A classic Saint-Estèphe from Château Lilian Ladouys, the Bordeaux estate acquired by Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti in 2008 and subsequently given a major programme of vineyard restructuring and investment. La Devise de Lilian is the château's second wine, made from a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2017 vintage offers expressive ripe cherry and cassis alongside Oriental spice, tobacco and cedar, with a generous, velvety palate and the firm tannic structure characteristic of Saint-Estèphe. The wine was aged for approximately 14 months and is now entering a lovely mature drinking phase.

A beautifully mature Saint-Estèphe with ripe fruit, classic Bordeaux structure and the unmistakable character of the Médoc.

Awards & Medals

Guide Hachette des Vins 2021, awarded to the 2017 vintage and described by the guide as a “very successful wine”.

“A lovely mature Bordeaux with exactly the character you want from Saint-Estèphe — ripe cassis and cherry, a little cedar and tobacco, and those beautifully savoury tannins. It feels sophisticated without being overworked and is drinking brilliantly now.” - Mark J
