Winemakers
We were introduced to Graham through his winemakers—though, as it happens, our co-founder Simon once faced him on the cricket field. A true icon of English cricket, Graham remains remarkably humble and enthusiastic about sharing his passion for wine with others.
Graham Gooch is one of the most prolific run-scorers in the history of top-class cricket. Upon his retirement in 1997, cricket statistician Robert Brooke calculated that Gooch had amassed 22,211 runs in List A cricket and 44,846 in first-class matches—placing him ahead of the legendary Jack Hobbs. His most iconic performance came at Lord’s in 1990, when he scored a remarkable 333 against India—still one of the highest individual scores in Test history and the highest ever recorded at Lord’s.
Despite his extraordinary achievements on the field, Graham remains grounded and an absolute pleasure to work with. He continues to contribute to the sport with passion and integrity, notably through his scholarship programme, which provides access to cricket for underprivileged children and supports the development of emerging talent—Alastair Cook being one of its most successful alumni.
Three Thirty Three is a collaboration between English cricket legend Graham Gooch and the historic Domaine Saint Hilaire, a renowned vineyard located in the heart of the Languedoc region in southern France. Rich in winemaking heritage dating back to the 18th century, the estate is known for producing high-quality wines that reflect the region’s unique terroir—characterised by warm Mediterranean climates, limestone-rich soils, and a long growing season ideal for expressive varietals.
This partnership has resulted in a beautifully crafted trio of wines: a crisp, aromatic Viognier, a delicately pale and refreshing Rosé, and a rich, smooth Shiraz—each one thoughtfully selected to showcase the elegance and balance of Languedoc winemaking. Fittingly named Three Thirty Three, the label pays tribute to Gooch’s legendary score of 333 runs against India at Lord’s in 1990—one of the most iconic innings in Test cricket history. Like the man himself, these wines combine strength, finesse, and lasting appeal.

“My three wines were selected and blended by me, the vineyard owner and cricket fan, Nick Kent and his Head Winemaker and reflect my own personal preference and taste in wines. The Viognier is in a light easy-drinking style and is bursting with exotic fruit flavours. The rosé is pale pink with delicate aromas of strawberry and raspberry. The Shiraz (or Syrah if you prefer) is full of dark fruit flavours with a warm and spicy richness from the ageing in French oak barrels. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!”
