A gourmet and good taster since his studies at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Jacky Lorenzetti has always appreciated the great wines of the Medoc region.
As well as his interests as President of Racing 92, the Ile-de-France based rugby team, Jacky and his wife Françoise first purchased Chateau Lilian Ladouys and its 46 hectares in 2008. He then went on to purchase Château Pédesclaux in 2009 and in 2013 Jacky teamed up with Emmanuel Cruse taking over 50% of Chateau d’Issan, an 1855 Margaux grand cru.
Château d’Issan – Grand Cru Classé en 1855- Margaux
With its buildings and its vineyard, the Issan estate is unique. It has a château of remarkable beauty and land of amazing abundance. Everything here contributes to maintaining the keen Issan identity.
Château d’Issan is a Third Growth of the 1855 Imperial Classification. The wine is made from the old vines in the Château d’Issan enclosure in the middle of the Margaux appellation. The soil here is mainly made up of surface gravel on top of a clay subsoil, which contributes to optimal ripeness and freshness in the two grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Château d’Issan expresses the exquisite bouquet so characteristic of Margaux, and stands out with its suppleness, subtlety, elegance and long keeping potential that come from its unique terroir.
Château Pédesclaux – Grand Cru Classé en 1855 – Pauillac
The vintage classified in 1855 is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Pauillac and in the world of the great Pauillac, Château Pédesclaux is the image of its terroir: complex. In this mosaic of soils, clays promote power and bold expression of elegance. The amateur can keep it for several decades.
Emmanuel Cruse, co-owner of Château d’Issan, is General Manager of Pédesclaux. He comes from a family of proprietors and merchants present in the Medoc since the 18th century. His expertise in the Bordeaux market and his expertise as a Grand Cru Classé are unanimously recognized.
Château Lilian Ladouys – Cru Bourgeois – St Estephe
In 2008, Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti acquired the estate after falling in love with it. When tasted, Lilian Ladouys always reveals a rich and crisp structure with ripe tannins and refined oak which melts into an explosion of fruit. It has the opulence and length of a Saint-Estèphe fine wine. Thanks to the appellation’s limestone-clay subsoils, its power is balanced out by a wonderful sensation of freshness.
Jacky Lorenzetti is President of Racing 92, a French rugby union club based in suburban Paris that was formed in 2001 with the collaboration of the Racing Club de France and US Métro. “92” is the number of Hauts-de-Seine, a département of Île-de-France, bordering Paris to the west, where they play, and whose council gives financial backing to the club. They currently play in the Top 14 at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir stadium at Colombes, where the France national team played for several decades.
