What a summer we have had!

Although we await a possible double act by the England Rugby team we cannot forget the cricketing triumphs of a few months ago.

Some members and friends of SWC came together at the Chinese Cricket Club Restaurant last week to reminisce and taste some wine.

We had former England Captain Adam Hollioake visiting from Australia alongside Dan Norcross from Test Match Special who gave gave us wonderful insights into the incredible World Cup success and the amazing Ashes win at Headingley.

Graham Fowler, England Cricket Test opener, was also there to add to our International team.

At the same time Surrey Fast Bowling great and SWC member Hugh Wilson was in fine form and recounting daring deeds of yesteryear.

Athens Olympics Badminton Silver Medallist Gail Emms made her debut appearance and enjoyed herself fully.

During the evening we tasted all three Graham Gooch wines , the 333 range, Jimmy Anderson’s Numbers Collection, and Botham Merrill Willis ( BMW) Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Add to this the iconic Cricket Pitch  Bordeaux Blend from Schalk Burger, who will be willing on his men to lift the Webb Ellis Trophy this weekend. Just a small matter of England to get past. We are truly spoilt in English sport right now, and SWC is there to help you enjoy a glass of sporting wine, fizz or spirit to accompany such great moments.
