Our relationship with SJP came about through a charity auction and it has developed from there. Supported by Andy Topping and Shaun Sandiford there was a cricketing and golfing feel to the evening.
Graham Gooch’s excellent trio (named 333!) of Viognier, Rosé and Syrah made their first appearance. Also the high quality Pouilly Fuissé from Vergisson and the vineyard part owned by Bob Reeves, former President of the RFU. There is limited supply of this so do not delay as we are selling out fast!
It was a real privilege to have this on the night and it sparked off a battle Royale between this and the very excellent Chardonnay from the Sumaridge Estate by owner Simon Turner, who was himself in attendance offering up his considerable exercise for a number of his wines which were present on the night.
As the Open was almost upon us, some Faldo Sauvignon proved to be in great demand before the weekend. It’s one of his best.
St James Place guests seemed to enjoy themselves and we know that this will be the start of a special relationship between the two organisations.
Cheers all and thanks again to the CCC.
