The Sporting Wine Club went golfing last week at the picturesque Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club. This was a charity event run by former England cricket captain, Chris Cowdrey in aid of ‘ADVANCE the breathing charity‘.
Positioned at the top of a hill behind the 13th green and armed with our sparkling Pinot Noir, the Sumaridge Wayfarer, the charity golfers didn’t need any persuading to put down their clubs for a couple of minutes and stop off for some light refreshments! It received universal plaudits as well as refreshing the quality of their golf…
Later at lunch they sampled the wonderful semilon chardonnay blend, Maritimus, along with the heavenly syrah blend Epitome. Not only did everyone enjoy the wines but we were immediately invited to do the same at another golf day. Meantime the winners gratefully hugged their magnums of Sumaridge Rosé.
“We were delighted to welcome the Sporting Wine Club with their excellent Sumaridge Estate wines and auction items to our charity golf day. Having them serve Wayfarer at the 13th green was simply brilliant, our charity golfers loved it. My wife and I visited Holly and Simon at the Sumaridge Estate in Hermanus earlier this year and having sampled their delicious wines we just knew we had to get the Sporting Wine Club involved with this event.”
