In 2020, during the dark days of the pandemic, Kenny Logan, Simon Halliday and Schalk Burger decided to create a wine to help in the fight against MND, in the name of MyName5Doddie Foundation. The Doddie5 was born and this amazing red blend (5 grape varieties) has been enjoyed throughout the UK, raising significant funds for the Foundation. Then came the sad news of Rob Burrow’s MND diagnosis, and 7&5 Gin was created to reflecting his and Doddie’s shirt number. This raised more funds and awareness of their commitment to research to combat the disease.
Now we bring you our third project, the Doddie5 Cap Classique. This 100% Chardonnay Sparkling Wine is a wonderful creation and whether bought as a case or part of the Ultimate Doddie’5 5election, it will allow ourselves, friends and family some champagne moments to toast Doddie’s indomitable fight against MND and the work his Foundation is doing.

Tasting Notes: This Méthode Cap Classique is a delectably dry sparkling wine composed entirely of Chardonnay. The nose presents a lovely combination of fresh granny smith apple, yeasty dough and biscuit aromas that make way for the unfolding flavours of the palate. A fine, lively mousse glides over the tongue, leaving behind it a trail of white peach and fresh fruit notes, while a long, creamy finish rounds off the overall profile of the wine.
Food Pairing: This lively MCC will compliment an array of dishes, serve well chilled alongside seafood, fresh salads, soft cheeses and pastries.
