7&5 Charity Gin story

Doddie Weir OBE and Rob Burrow MBE are two sporting legends in the world of rugby – union and league. After memorable & successful rugby careers, both Doddie and Rob were diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. Now they have joined forces to use the passion and positivity that made them rugby greats to raise awareness and help find a cure for this disease together.

7&5 Charity Gin, named after their playing numbers, donates all profits of its bottle sales to a chosen research project which Doddie & Rob feel is underfunded in support of their fight against MND.

It’s been an incredible few months raising awareness for Motor Neuron Disease

  • £50 million was granted from the Government for targeted MND research
  • My Name’5 Doddie Foundation celebrated their 4th anniversary of the charity, which has committed over £6m to research to date.
  • Rob Burrow’s former Leeds Rhinos team-mate Kevin Sinfield raised over £1.5m during The Extra Mile Challenge.
  • Kevin Sinfield recently received an OBE from the Duke of Cambridge at an investiture service at Windsor Castle for services to rugby league and charity fundraising.

All the profits from the sales of the 7&5 Charity Gin will go towards MND research.

Decided to crack the bottle tonight. The eve of the challenge cup final. Thinking of Rob ( and big Doddie ) remembering how good he was . Stay strong, the gin is beautiful.

  2. Ian Cruden

Just bought 2 bottles to go with the wine I had already purchased haven’t tried the gin yet but the labeling of both bottle is shocking rips to the seals bubbles on the main label.
    Very disappointed

  3. Ann Edmunds

This is such a wonderful idea. I love reading all the news items ,and feel proud to support a sporting establishment that cares so much for others. I started watching the scarlets play when I was four years old , 59 years ago. My father Len Davies was a very good friend of Dwayne Peels grandfather, whom I met on many occasions , and I have very fond memories of past times at the old Scarlets ground.

I ordered my Gin 75 at the beginning of January and have still not received it. Can you please update me on my purchase.

  5. Nina Shearer

Wonderful idea, wonderful gin. Much love to Doddie, Rob and everyone involved xx

My husband lived with mnd for 4 years. He unfortunately lost his battle with mnd earlier this year. This Gin is a great idea and has made it easy to buy gifts for people who supported us through this difficult time. The people we have gifted the gin to have been delighted. I am hoping it comes back into stock asap as I want to order more as Christmas gifts. Great stuff.

  7. Alan Martin

What a great idea….we can all enjoy the drink and at the same time MND Research benefits. I am ordering a bottle and hope many more follow suit.

  8. Justin Hammond

My dad and I have just bought a bottle each – yet to receive them but what a fantastic idea and a wonderful cause. Unfortunately I also have MND – a horrendous disease – but all your efforts to raise awareness are tremendous and I look up to you both. Thank you so much. We can’t wait to try it. Keep smiling…
