7&5 Charity Gin story
Doddie Weir OBE and Rob Burrow MBE are two sporting legends in the world of rugby – union and league. After memorable & successful rugby careers, both Doddie and Rob were diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. Now they have joined forces to use the passion and positivity that made them rugby greats to raise awareness and help find a cure for this disease together.
7&5 Charity Gin, named after their playing numbers, donates all profits of its bottle sales to a chosen research project which Doddie & Rob feel is underfunded in support of their fight against MND.
It’s been an incredible few months raising awareness for Motor Neuron Disease
- £50 million was granted from the Government for targeted MND research
- My Name’5 Doddie Foundation celebrated their 4th anniversary of the charity, which has committed over £6m to research to date.
- Rob Burrow’s former Leeds Rhinos team-mate Kevin Sinfield raised over £1.5m during The Extra Mile Challenge.
- Kevin Sinfield recently received an OBE from the Duke of Cambridge at an investiture service at Windsor Castle for services to rugby league and charity fundraising.
All the profits from the sales of the 7&5 Charity Gin will go towards MND research.
