A wine born from rugby, friendship and a shared love of France. La Grand Mêlée — French for “the scrum” — is the collaboration of South African rugby brothers Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis, created from the Rugbyfield Vineyard at Château de Valcombe in the Costières de Nîmes. Bismarck, one of South Africa's greatest-ever hookers and a World Cup-winning Springbok, and Jannie, the former Springbok prop, brought their rugby heritage to a vineyard project that connects South Africa with the French Rhône. The result is a generous Syrah-Grenache red, full of black cherry, bramble and dark fruit, with the warmth, spice and savoury character of the Southern Rhône.

A proper rugby wine — created by two Springbok brothers and named for the most iconic contest in the game.
