Ponting Wines is a collaboration between one of Australia’s most celebrated cricketers, Ricky Ponting and Ben Riggs, an award-winning Australian winemaker known for uncompromising, high-quality wines. Masters of their craft, their partnership has been forged to celebrate their dedication and achievements.

Each wine reflects Ricky’s life and has been carefully crafted by Ben to ensure flavour, structure and complexity are of the highest quality.

The Adelaide Hills is located in the Mount Lofty Ranges, east of Adelaide. One of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia its diversity in terms of altitude, climate and soil helps it produce its distinctive cool climate wines.

A consistently cool growing season throughout the 2022 vintage, without any long stretches of significant heat, have been great for maintaining freshness and acidity in the fruit. Ideal conditions throughout ripening and harvest, yields remained high with excellent flavour development and acid retention.

Fruit for the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc was machine harvested in the early hours of the morning, then crushed and drained through the press to retain the fresh, bright flavours. Clarified juice fermented with two aromatic yeast strains to enhance the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc varietal characters.
