LOOSE REIN · RACING TERM · KENT PINOT GRIS
Named after the horse-riding term “loose rein”, when a jockey holds the reins loosely and allows the horse to move naturally rather than dictating every step, this Pinot Gris reflects exactly that philosophy. Yotes Court gave winemaker Nick Lane complete freedom over the direction and style of the wine, resulting in a beautifully balanced English Pinot Gris with ripe pear and white pepper on the nose, generous stone-fruit character and a silky, mouth-filling texture. The 2023 vintage brings a gentle richness and subtle toasted-oat character to the finish, creating a wine that sits beautifully between the richer, rounder style of Alsace and the lighter freshness of northern Italian Pinot Grigio.
A beautifully balanced English Pinot Gris — with the freedom to let the fruit lead the way.

“Such a lovely textured white — much more interesting than a typical Pinot Grigio, with ripe pear, stone fruit and a lovely savoury finish. It has enough richness for food but remains beautifully fresh.” - El T-G
17/20 — Jancis Robinson, Tamlyn Currin (2021 vintage), praising the wine as a highly promising expression from Yotes Court's young vines.
